AI-First AWS Cloud Engineer

AWS cloud engineering with agents every day: from landing zones to AI workloads in production.

88% of companies are using AI. Only 1 in 3 pilots ever reaches production. The problem is not the model. It is who puts it in production.

That is the job.

Flipkick is an engineering boutique with 11 years of experience getting systems in production, 150+ active clients and offices in Porto and Riyadh. Since late 2025 we are AI-first: under our Flipkick Forward practice we take AI systems from proof of concept to real production on AWS and we build with AI at every step. Claude and Kiro are not tools we "also use". They are how we work.

We are hiring the cloud engineer who makes all of that stand up.

How we engineer here

You will not be typing Terraform from scratch at 11 p.m. You will be running agentic workflows: Claude Code and Kiro draft the infrastructure code, review the pipelines, trace the incident, write the documentation. You review, orchestrate, and own the outcome. Your judgment is the product; the agents are the leverage. What you learn feeds the whole team through a weekly show-and-tell we actually protect.

What you will do
  • Engineer with agents, daily. Infrastructure automation, pipeline and code review, incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis, documentation that exists before you forget what happened.
  • Build the ground AI runs on. AWS landing zones and multi-account organizations, EKS/ECS, VPC, RDS, CloudFront, and the infrastructure underneath production AI workloads: Bedrock and Claude on AWS, cost and latency observability, secure-by-design environments.
  • Keep multi-client production honest. Everything as code with Terraform, CI/CD (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins), EKS upgrades, IAM/SCPs/SSO, GuardDuty and CloudTrail, cross-region DR that has actually been tested.
  • Face clients directly. You plan migrations and go-lives with the client, not through an account manager. From PHP to .NET to Python teams, you are the person they trust with production.
You
  • Solid, hands-on AWS (EKS/ECS, VPC, RDS, IAM/SCPs/SSO), Terraform, Kubernetes, Linux, CI/CD. Non-negotiable.
  • AI is your daily driver, not your demo. You run agentic workflows in real engineering work: infra automation, pipeline review, troubleshooting. Claude and Claude Code experience is what we are looking for; Kiro experience puts you at the top of the pile.
  • You can explain what an agent did, why you trusted it, and where you overrode it. In the interview we will ask you to show a real workflow, not describe one.
  • Comfortable in front of clients, in English.
  • Portuguese as your native language, or fluent both spoken and written.
  • Based in or around Porto (preference).
Bonus points

Bedrock or other production LLM workloads · evals, guardrails or AI cost monitoring exposure · Control Tower and landing zones · migrating live environments into code · container/orchestrator migrations · Azure/GCP · Redis, Varnish, Traefik, Ansible, SOPS · AWS certifications · AI certifications.

What you get
  • A structured AI-first enablement program, with real gates and paid Anthropic and AWS certifications. You will not be "figuring out AI alone on weekends".
  • Claude credits for personal experimentation.
  • Weekly protected research time and a weekly show-and-tell with a small senior team.
  • A visible career path to Forward Lead: owning client engagements end-to-end, technically and in the room.
  • Zero layers. Your name on the work, direct access to everyone, decisions in days.
  • Remote-first, offices in Porto and Riyadh.

How to apply

Send your CV or contact us on LinkedIn plus a short note on the best agentic workflow you have built or the best thing you have automated with AI. Yes, you can use AI to write it. We would be more worried if you didn’t.
